Tillman U. Ratty, 87, of Bonne Terre died Sept. 12, 2017, at Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center. Mr. Ratty was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps who fought in the Korean War. He was a volunteer for the Pevely Fire Department, a past board member of the Dunklin Fire Protection District and a treasurer for the United Cement and Lime Gypsum Workers Union. Born July 16, 19030, in Leadwood, he was the son of Elviria (Chamberlain) and General Jasper Ratty. He is survived by his wife: Marilyn (Birks) Ratty.
He is also survived by two daughters: Teri (Herbert) Enzmann of Hillsboro and Mary Kay (Elvin) Gile of Bonne Terre; four grandchildren: Joseph Gile, Phillip Gile, Kathryn (Matt) Harbison and Leslie (Daniel) Eaton; seven great-grandchildren: Mikala, Braelyn, Lydia, Lillian, Brooke, Owen and Addison; and a sister: Freda (Don) Marler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepmother: Opal Ratty; three brothers: Vernon, Stanley and Leon Ratty; and a sister: Charlotte Drinen.
A visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday (Sept. 15) at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home, 313 Benham St., in Bonne Terre. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, (Sept. 16) at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Larry Allison. Burial will be at Herculaneum Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Jefferson Barracks VA Hospice Unit. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home.
