Patricia Kay Gross, 70, of Festus died May 14, 2015, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Mrs. Gross was a retired assembler for White-Rodgers Co. in St. Louis and volunteered with the Ozark Food Pantry in Festus. Born Jan. 13, 1945, in Austin, Texas, she was the daughter of Stella Mae (Dobbs) Hill of Marion, Ill., and the late Morris John Bernhardt.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband: Roger Dale Gross; her stepfather: James L. Hill Sr. of Marion; two sons: Robert R. Hickman Sr. of Festus and John M. Hickman of Festus; two daughters: Earlene (Paul) Kodack of Claude, Texas, and Lisa (Charles) Higgins of Bloomsdale; a sister: Connie (Wayne) Ernst of Sedgewickville; a stepbrother: Jimmy Hill Jr.; two stepsisters: Shirley Isbella and Laura Serles; seven grandchildren: Rachel (Josh) Wuertz of Festus; Natasha Haynes of Claude, Texas; Robert R. Hickman Jr. of Arnold; Nikky (Kyle) Church of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and Alex Charleton, Abbigail Brickey and Tabitha Kay Hickman of Conway, Ark.; and four great-grandchildren: Cameron Hickman, Alexander Church and Audrey and Cooper Wuertz.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Steven Bernhardt.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 18, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Terry Crank of Herculaneum officiating. Burial is in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
