House Springs man, High Ridge woman allegedly found with illegal drugs

Melvin Gierer III

Melvin Lorance Gierer III, 45, of High Ridge and Jessica Nicole Hahn, 40, of House Springs recently were charged with felony drug possession. The two were allegedly found with illegal substances following a traffic stop in High Ridge, court documents show.

Gierer on April 15 was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and driving with a revoked license. He was arrested on April 15, and as of April 22, he was being held on a $5,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court records.

Hahn on April 17 was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. As of April 22, she had not been arrested, but a warrant had been issued for her arrested, court records said.

According to the case’s probable-cause statement, a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper on Aug. 30, 2025, stopped Gierer for following too closely and speeding while driving a 2020 Infiniti QX60 on westbound Hwy. 30 near High Ridge Boulevard.

Gierer allegedly tried to flee from the trooper, but the SUV experienced a mechanical failure and stopped. Gierer was on probation for a prior possession of a controlled substance conviction, and Hahn allegedly provided the trooper with a false name and said she had drug paraphernalia in her handbag, the report said.

The trooper allegedly found a glass smoking pipe and a white crystal-like substance in the handbag. He also allegedly found a white crystal-like substance next to the driver’s seat, according to the report.

The two were arrested and later released pending the application for warrants. The trooper tracked down Hahn after learning she provided false information, and he arrested her again on Sept. 29. She was later released pending the application for warrants, the report said.

On Feb. 10, the Highway Patrol reported lab tests revealed the substances tested positive as meth, according to the report.

Gierer and Hahn are both prior offenders.

In May 2021, Gierer was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest by fleeing in Jefferson County, and that same month, he was found guilty of driving with a revoked license in St. Francois County. In December 2022, he was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance in Jefferson County, and in September 2024, he was found guilty of driving with a revoked license in St. Charles, according to court records.

In January 2011, Hahn was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance in St. Louis County, court documents show.
