Joseph John Grippe, 21, of Imperial has been accused of attacking two woman and a man because he believed one of the women was cheating on him. Grippe is related to the man, who he allegedly choked, according to court records.
Grippe has been charged with felony counts of first-degree domestic assault, second-degree domestic assault and third-degree assault. As of Monday, June 22, he was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court and jail records show.
According to a probable-cause statement filed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Grippe and the woman he was in a relationship with were arguing on June 21, and he allegedly started punching the woman. Another woman attempted to stop Grippe, and he also punched her.
The other man stepped in to separate the Grippe and the women, and he and Grippe began to fight. Grippe knocked the man down, and he allegedly choked the other man until the other man was unconscious, the report said.
When the other man woke up, he and the two women were able to flee from Grippe, according to the report.
