(The Center Square) – In President Donald Trump’s first year in office, illegal border crossers in one year in California plummeted, and nearly equaled the number of gotaways Border Patrol agents reported in California in previous years. 

• Columbia detectives intercepted 56 pounds of methamphetamine shipped from Mexico in drug bust Sunday at home in Boone County just outside the city. Hector Hernandez Medina, 28 who is from Mexico and in the country unlawfully, and 49-year-old Ebonie Lewis, 49, of Columbia, face drug trafficking charges. Medina also faces a gun charge.
