Erik D. Nilsen, 50, of Arnold has been accused of taking pictures and recording people while they were tanning at Xist Fitness, 3823 Vogel Road, in Arnold. Investigators believe Nilsen had been taking pictures and recording video for least the last five years, Arnold Police said in a Facebook post Sept. 12.
Nilsen was charged with eight counts of felony invasion of privacy on Sept. 9, according to Arnold Police. He was arrested on Sept. 10, and Jefferson County Jail records showed he was released on Sept. 11.
According to an Arnold Police Facebook post, officers were contacted about Nilsen taking pictures and recording videos on July 6. Detectives analyzed digital forensic data and identified multiple victims who were unaware they had been unlawfully recorded dating back to 2021.
Lt. Jeremy Christopher said Nilsen did not work at the gym.
