Robert A. Mullins, 80, of Crystal City died April 29, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Mullins was an investigator for the prosecuting attorney’s office. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the 24th Infantry Division in Germany and the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. He was a member of the Highland Southern Baptist Church, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department from Feb.1973 to Dec. 2004, the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge and the VFW Post 3777 in Festus. Born June 5, 1945, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Wesley Mullins and Thelma (Bullock) Wagner Mullins. He was the stepson of the late Christen Wagner.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce J. (Wibble) Mullins.
He is survived by a son: Tim (Claudia) Mullins of Crystal City; and a grandchild: Zachary Fields.
He also was preceded in death by a brother: Leroy Mullins.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Hillsboro, officiated by Keith Perren. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
