Mary Lou Vineyard, 83, of Festus died Nov. 28, 2022, at Cedarhurst of Arnold. Born April 28, 1939, in Festus, Mrs. Vineyard was the daughter of the late Hilda Sophia (Roth) and Louis Henry Schweigert.
She is survived by her husband: Dale Vineyard; four children: Dena (Ronald) Lucas of Festus, Kevin (Kristen) Vineyard of East Haven, Conn., Tracy (Jeffrey) Kempfer of Crystal City and Tricia (James) Green of Herculaneum; 10 grandchildren: Jessica and Adam Lucas, Montana (Jamie), Cole and Ray Kempfer, Rebekah and Zachary Vineyard, Justin and Morgan Green, and Madison (Jacob) Sheppard; a great-granddaughter: Amelia Lucas; a sister: Dorothy “Tootie” (the late Marvin) Jeffers; two sisters-in-law: Kathy Schweigert of O’Fallon and Marlene Schweigert of Festus; a brother-in-law: Don Pogue of Festus; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four siblings: Laverne (the late Cletus) Moore, Shirley Pogue, James Schweigert and Robert “Bob” Schweigert.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Marys Lane, in Festus. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation or Our Lady Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
