Mary Janice “Jan” Siebels, 80, of De Soto died Dec. 26, 2020, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mrs. Siebels was a homemaker. She was a 1958 graduate of De Soto High School and faithfully attended De Soto Community Church of God. She was a Sunday school teacher and group leader and served as church secretary and pastor’s wife for many years in Arizona, Texas, Missouri and Ohio. She was a hard worker and an avid reader who loved her church, her family and her God. Born July 24, 1940, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Harry Thomas and Blanche N. (Merrill) Reynolds.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years: Robert Siebels of De Soto; two children: Thomas (Blanca) Siebels of Altadena, Calif., and Tony Siebels of Pawhuska, Okla.; two siblings: Erna Melkus and Ralph Reynolds; two sisters-in-law: Dixie Reynolds and Almarie Reynolds; a brother-in-law: Paul (Donna) Siebels; four grandchildren: Alison, James and Ashley Siebels, all of Altadena, Calif., and Anthony Siebels of Independence, Kan.; many nieces and nephews; and countless other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Glenice Drake; and three brothers: Orville Reynolds, Jerry Reynolds and Jack Reynolds.
Visitation is at noon until a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Ron Kulp and the Rev. Tony Siebels. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
