Sections of one lane each way of Hwy. 61-67 (Truman Boulevard) in the northern portion of the Twin City area will be closed starting at 7 p.m. Monday, July 6, Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) officials announced today, June 30.

The closure of one northbound lane and one southbound lane of Hwy. 61-67 from Brandon Wallace Way to Sixth Street in Festus/Eighth Street in Crystal City (the same street is named differently in each city) will remain until the project is finished, which is estimated to be the spring of 2027, a MoDOT spokesperson said.

According to a written statement from the department, the section of Hwy. 61-67 involved will have one northbound lane, one southbound lane and a middle turn lane in place until construction is complete. This will allow crews to work on the outside shoulder areas of the Hwy. 61-67 section, the statement said.

The project includes drainage work and the addition of a fifth lane to the section.

All work is weather permitting.
