Bonnie Verell, 64, of Cadet died from her injuries following a three-vehicle crash on Sept. 1 on Hwy. 67 at Montauk Drive south of Festus, officials reported.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer publishes names of those involved in accidents. The Medical Examiner’s Office identified Verell as the woman who died and reported that she was from Hillsboro.
At. 4:18 p.m., Verell was at the intersection of Hwy. 67 and Montauk Drive in a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country and failed to yield to northbound traffic, the report said. A northbound 2025 Dodge ProMaster 3500, driven by a 21-year-old Festus man, struck the driver’s side of the Chrysler and slid into southbound traffic.
The Dodge struck the driver’s side of a southbound 2012 Ford F550 driven by a 41-year-old Park Hills man, the report said.
Valle Ambulance District personnel transported the Festus man, who had minor injuries, to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
Arch Air Medical services transported Verell to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was pronounced dead at 10:13 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, the report said.
According to the report, all drivers were wearing seat belts, and all three vehicles were totaled.
