Joyce Nadine Messmer, 71, of St. Louis died Nov. 13, 2015, in Festus. Born Jan. 27, 1944, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Hunter and Ava (Kain) Goerke.
She is survived by a daughter: Tina Barton of Festus; four grandchildren: Glen (Shawna) Barton of St. Louis, Chad (Laura Hughey) of Festus, Eva (Eric) Roland of Festus and Christopher Turner of Ste. Genevieve; and five great-grandchildren: Chaley Dry, Jayden Allbright, Zathan and Zuri Barton and Kobe Turner.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Jim and Jerry Hunter; a son: Mike Turner; a great-granddaughter: Samantha Turner; and a friend: Bill York.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County, followed immediately by funeral services. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home in South County.
