Edwin Fred Duing, 85, of De Soto died Dec. 29, 2017, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis County. Mr. Duing was a veterinarian with the De Soto Animal Hospital. He was a and a member of the Methodist Church in Hillsboro and the Masonic Lodge. Born June 15, 1932, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Edna (Anacker) and Herman Duing. He was preceded in death by his wife: Patricia (Sublette) Duing.
He is survived by a son: Stanley (Maei) Duing of De Soto; a daughter: Ebbie (Rob) Lower of Imperial; a stepson: Tim (Vicky) McCallister of St. Peters; three stepdaughters: Mindy (Randy) McCallister of O’Fallon, Lori McCallister of Hillsboro and Jennifer McCallister of Victoria; a son-in-law: Jim Davis of Cadet; six grandchildren: Joseph, Micheala, Mitchell, April, Sara and Kenneth; and several step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Edna Duing.
A funeral service was held Jan. 2 at Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Senior Olympics or to the Veterans Administration. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
