Douglas “Wayne” Sanford, 72, of Festus died Aug. 31, 2018, at NHC Healthcare in Desloge. Mr. Sanford was a truck driver. He enjoyed game shows and playing video games. He was a former member of the Festus-Crystal City Elks. Born July 11, 1946, in St. Louis, he was the son of Melbrine (Baker) and W.A. Sanford.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Virginia (Williams) Sanford.

He is survived by three sons: Douglas Wayne Sanford Jr. of Florida, Frank Dwayne (Melody) Sanford of Bloomsdale and Danny (Amanda) Sanford of Belleview; a daughter: Brook (John) Bullock of De Soto; a sister: Brenda DePew of Pevely; 10 grandchildren: Ashlie, Hunter, Jenna and Johnny Bullock and Parker, Kaiden, Frank II, Alexis, Emilie and Angel Sanford; and a great-granddaughter: Maddie-Lynn.

Memorial gathering will be held from 9-10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Mahn Funeral Home, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, followed immediately by a memorial service officiated by the Rev. Don Akers. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9370 Olive Blvd., St. Louis MO 63132. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
