Joshua L. Eskew, 36, of House Springs allegedly attacked two men at a Hillsboro-area home. He became angry after misplacing his trading cards and was told to leave the home after threatening to beat up a woman, according to court documents.
Eskew has been charged with third-degree assault, a class E felony; two counts of fourth-degree assault, class A misdemeanors; and first-degree trespassing, a class B misdemeanor, court records show.
As of Monday, he was being held on a $5,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court documents said.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was called Nov. 19 to a home in the 9300 block of Ashbrook Farms Road in the Hillsboro area after Eskew allegedly assaulted the two men. One of the men had yelled at Eskew to leave after Eskew allegedly threatened to attack the woman because he could not find his trading cards, according to the case’s probable-cause statement.
Eskew chased the man from the home and allegedly tackled and hit the man in the head and ribs multiple times. The man was able to get back into the home, but Eskew followed him and started choking the man, the report said.
Another man, who was not in the home, heard the commotion and went into the house. Eskew allegedly tackled that man, punched him, hit him over the head with an unknown object and choked that man as well, according to the report.
A deputy arrested Eskew at the house. The first man, who was allegedly attacked, was treated by paramedics at the home, and the other man refused medical treatment, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
