Catherine A. Crecelius, 78, St. Louis

Catherine A. Crecelius, 78, of St. Louis died May 16, 2022. Mrs. Crecelius was Catholic. She enjoyed crafting, swimming, skiing and spending time with her family’s dogs: Sally, Bernice, Belvedere and Sophie. She loved visiting with people and helping people work through addiction treatment. Born Jan. 27, 1944, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Mickey and Mary Jane (Dressel) Mackin.

She was preceded in death by her first husband: Lonie Ray Anspach; and her second husband: Ronald Crecelius.

She is survived by two daughters: Deborah L. Cleek and Bethanne M. (Landon Benner) Anspach; two sons: Daniel W. (Solange) Anspach and Bryan R. Anspach; five grandchildren: Ashley M. Tweedy, Brittany M. Cleek, Danielle R. Anspach, and Kerstan and Hailey Rosenberger; six great-grandchildren: Koulson Tweedy, Jasper Cleek, Bentley Weyh, Gabriel Rosario, Riley Morris and Athena Ramroop; and many other amily and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: William and Mary (Spicer) Dressel; three aunts: Katie Hemmingway, Gracie Gassen and Georgie Anderson: one uncle: William Dressel; and one grandson: Benjamin A. Cleek.

Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 10301 Big Bend Road, in Kirkwood. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, 11011 Mueller Road, in St. Louis County. Memorials may be made to Judy’s Forgotten Jewells Animal Rescue in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
