Missouri-based law enforcement agencies conducted a warrant sweep in Columbia for people wanted on felony warrants Friday.

The federal and state warrant sweep was led by a coalition of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, according to a news release from the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri.

The sweep also included those with firearm-related offenses.

"This enforcement is targeted and intelligence driven, to focus on wanted individuals who pose an elevated risk to the public safety of the community," according to the news release.

The warrant sweep took place on Thursday as well.

According to the news release, none of the enforcement towards individuals wanted on felony warrants was related to civil immigration violations. 

Agencies that were a part of the warrant sweep included: 

  • Boone County Sheriff's Office
  • Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
  • Columbia Police Department
  • Drug Enforcement Administration
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation 
  • Homeland Security Investigations
  • Missouri State Highway Patrol
  • U.S. Marshals Service
