Dylan Ander Zeiter, 28, of Festus was allegedly found with methamphetamine and a bong following a traffic stop in Pevely, according to court documents.
Zeiter on Oct. 10 was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony; unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor; failure to register a motor vehicle, a class B misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle without proof of insurance, a class D misdemeanor, court records show.
Due to Zeiter being a persistent offender, the possession charge is considered a class C felony, punishable by three to 10 years in prison. He was found guilty of possession charges in May 2016 and May 2018 in Jefferson County, court documents show.
Zeiter was arrested on Oct. 30, and as of Nov. 5, he was being held on a $10,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records said.
On Dec. 19, 2024, a Pevely Police officer saw Zeiter driving a Chevrolet Cruze without license plates. After the officer turned on his cruiser’s lights and sirens, Zeiter pulled into an abandoned lot near the intersection of Lynwood and Quail drives, according to the probable-cause statement.
The officer allegedly found a bag containing a crystal-like substance, a bong and an open container of alcohol on the passenger’s seat, the report said.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol on May 19 reported the substance tested positive as meth, according to the report.
A class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000. A class B misdemeanor carries a penalty of up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000, and a class D misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of up to $500.
