Imperial man charged with aggravated DWI

Shaun Parsons

An Imperial man was recently arrested after being charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol last year. The man has been convicted for at least three previous DWI charges, court documents show.

Shaun B Parsons, 46, was arrested on Feb. 11 after his $1,000 bond was revoked for consuming alcohol. As of Feb. 12, he was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court records.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on Sept. 14 charged Parsons with aggravated DWI. He posted bond on Dec. 8, but his bond was revoked on Jan. 27, court documents said.

According to a probable-cause statement filed by the Highway Patrol, Parsons was allegedly speeding while traveling south on I-55 at about 1:40 a.m. Sept. 14. The trooper reported Parsons was driving 89 mph in a 70-mph zone.

The trooper turned on his emergency equipment and followed Parsons onto Richardson Road. Parsons pulled into the Circle K gas station, 1980 Richardson Road, to stop, the report said.

Parsons allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was arrested, according to the report.

Court records show Parsons was found guilty of DWI in 2001 and 2005 in Jefferson County Circuit Court and in 2012 in Arnold Municipal Court.
