Anthony Richard Waddington, 42, who has addresses listed in the De Soto area and House Springs, has been accused of stalking and harassing a Hillsboro woman. He had previously been sentenced to four years in prison in February 2021 for stalking and harassing the same woman, according to court documents.
Waddington on Nov. 10 was charged with a second or subsequent offense of first-degree stalking, a class D felony punishably by up to seven years in prison; and first-degree harassment, a class E felony that carries a penalty of up to four years in prison, court documents show.
As of Saturday, Nov. 15, Waddington was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records said.
Waddington was arrested Nov. 9 after he went to a Festus home on back-to-back days because the Hillsboro woman was at the house, according to a probable-cause statement filed by the Festus Police.
Waddington first went to the home Nov. 8. He banged on the door and demanded that the woman leave with him, the report said.
Waddington had blocked the woman’s car outside the home, but he left after being told that the police had been called, according to the report.
Waddington returned to the home Nov. 9. He had driven a green pickup to the house, and after initially parking on the street, he moved to a nearby business where he parked the pickup in a position to still be able to see the house, the report said.
Festus Police located Waddington in the pickup within a half-mile of the home. He allegedly told officers, “I didn’t do anything wrong. I’m just making sure she’s not cheating,” according to the report.
Along with tracking the woman to the home in Festus, Waddington allegedly called her dozens of times and sent her multiple messages between Nov. 2-9. He allegedly told the woman he would not go back to prison, threatened to send pornographic videos of the woman to her family and friends, and that he was going to make the police shoot and kill him in front of her, the report said.
Waddington allegedly told the woman, “It’s going to be 100 times worse than last time” and she deserved it, according to the report.
Along with the previous stalking and harassment charges, Waddington has been convicted on charges of third-degree domestic assault, resisting arrest, first-degree burglary, abuse or neglect of a child, second-degree assault, receiving stolen property, stealing and tampering with a witness in a felony case, according to Missouri Department of Corrections records.
Festus Police reported he was on probation for first-degree burglary and second-degree assault when officers arrested him, the probable-cause statement said.
