A 34-year-old House Springs man and a 21-year-old Imperial man were arrested in Arnold for alleged possession of heroin. The House Springs man also was arrested for allegedly endangering the welfare of his 5-year-old daughter, Arnold Police reported.

The men were arrested at 4:06 p.m. March 5, after police found them, along with the 5-year-old girl, in a vehicle parked outside the Lowe’s store in the Arnold Commons development. The men “appeared to be impaired by narcotics,” and they allegedly were found with heroin and drug paraphernalia, the report said.

The House Springs man already was wanted on outstanding warrants from Jefferson County for driving with a suspended license, Franklin County for traffic violations and St. Louis County for possession of a controlled substance, Lt. James Jones said.

He said the House Springs man was booked and held for one of the other law enforcement agencies, and the Imperial man was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results from drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against both men through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s office for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. In addition, police will see a charge for endangering the welfare of a child against the House Springs man, Jones said.

The child was turned over to family members, and police contacted Children’s Division, Jones said.
