Imperial woman charged with tampering, drug possession

Tiffany Bley

Tiffany Marie Bley, 29, of Imperial has been accused of stealing a car, shoplifting and possessing illegal drugs. She was arrested in Arnold and in Imperial last year, according to court documents.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on March 7 charged Bley with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, and stealing, a class A misdemeanor, for an incident in July 2024 in Arnold. Bley also was charged that day with first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, a class D felony, for an incident in October 2024 in Imperial, court records said.

Bley was arrested on July 15 and she was being held on an $11,200 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, jail records show.

According to a probable-cause statement filed by the Arnold Police, Bley allegedly stole Pokemon cards, posters, painting supplies and other items on July 22, 2024, from the Walmart store, 2201 Michigan Ave. The items were worth $295.55.

Officers arrested Bley after she left the store, and an officer allegedly found she had a substance that appeared to be illegal drugs. The substance was tested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and it tested positive as fentanyl, the report said.

According to a probable-cause statement filed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Bley on Oct. 29, 2024, stole a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt at the ZX gas station, 5209 Warren Road, in Imperial.

Surveillance video allegedly showed the woman who owned the Cobalt giving the Bley the keys to the car while they were both in the gas station’s convenience store. Bley is then seen driving away without the other woman in the car, the report said.

The alleged victim said she did not give Bley permission to drive the car, according to the report.

When investigators interviewed Bley, she allegedly said the other woman told her she could drive the car, and she was going to bring it back to the other woman. However, Bley also said she did not return the Cobalt to other woman, and she instead left it at an unknown commuter lot, the report said.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the Cobalt was recovered by the Metro East Task Force on Nov. 22, 2024, in Cahokia Heights, Ill.
