Locks were broken on three camper doors parked at Big River Boat and RV Storage in High Ridge, and items were stolen from two of the campers. A hole was found under the fence surrounding the business, and it looked like the hole was deep enough to crawl through to enter the property, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies were called Nov. 19 to the storage facility, 2232 Gravois Road, and found the door to a 2020 Grand Design Camper had been pried open. A rear-view camera, a monitor connected to the camera and a North Face sleeping bag were missing from the camper. The cost to replace the camera and monitor and to repair the door was estimated at $1,000, and the sleeping bag was valued at about $300, the report said.

The deputy discovered doors to two other campers at the facility were damaged and one of the owners said a 38-amp power surge protector worth $214 was stolen. The damage to the door was estimated at about $500, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

The third victim told deputies nothing appeared to be missing from his camper and did not provide an estimate for the damage to the door, the report said.

As of Nov. 23, none of the missing items had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
