Investigators search a Mazda SUV that was driven this morning to Festus City Hall and Police Station on Tuesday morning by a woman who allegedly told officers she killed two of her children.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a pickup from a home in the 2000 block of Gravois Road in High Ridge. The 1997 Ford F-150 was valued at about $2,000, authorities reported.

The owner said he parked his pickup in his driveway at about 5 p.m. June 9 and discovered it missing at about 10 a.m. June 10. The man also said his son saw the pickup with two men inside at about 9 a.m. traveling along Old Sugar Creek Road, the report said.

The victim told deputies the pickup was unlocked, but the keys were not inside it when it was stolen.

As of June 14, the pickup had not been recovered and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
