A St. Louis man reportedly sent threatening text messages to a Jefferson County woman and her daughter over at least a six-month period. The alleged messages to the woman said she was an “easy target” and to “watch her back,” and messages to the woman’s daughter implied he was planning to kill the woman, according to court documents.
Nathaniel L. Thirdkill, 30, of St. Louis has been charged with two counts of first-degree stalking and two counts of first-degree harassment, each one a class E felony punishable by up to four years in prison. He also has been charged with resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor that carries a penalty of up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000, court records show.
As of Monday, he was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court documents said.
The woman Thirdkill allegedly threatened was his former girlfriend.
In a probable-cause statement filed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 23, Thirdkill reportedly texted a message to the woman’s daughter that said, “Tell your mom, I’m going to never leave her alone just like she didn’t leave me alone … I’ll see y’all when you get home.”
A deputy allegedly saw Thirdkill walking out of a wooded area toward the woman’s home in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, according to the report.
When the deputy ordered him to stop and told Thirdkill he was under arrest, he reportedly cursed at the deputy and ran away. He allegedly told the deputy that she “could not stop him from getting to the victim,” the report said.
The Sheriff’s Office had sought charges against Thirdkill for alleged domestic assault, burglary, stalking and harassment, the report said.
A probable-cause statement filed on Sept. 15 said Thirdkill sent messages to the woman’s daughter on Aug. 24 that said he would be at the girl’s school bus stop.
He also allegedly was seen on Sept. 15 outside a home where the woman and her daughter were and sent text messages to both of them, according to the report.
The message to the girl allegedly said he hoped someone would be there for the girl because “you won’t have a dad or mom.” The message to the woman said, “Get ready because I’m about to destroy your world,” the report said.
Another probable-cause statement filed on Sept. 16 said Thirdkill had texted the woman and listed a number of recent purchases she had made for her home.
The woman told investigators he would not have known about the purchases unless he had been at the house because the two stopped seeing each other before she bought the items, the report said.
On Oct. 1, the Sheriff’s Office filed another probable-cause statement detailing messages Thirdkill sent to the woman and her daughter.
On Aug. 27, Thirdkill allegedly responded to a text message showing restraining orders had been filed against him by saying, “I don’t care about none of that it’s not stopping me,” the report said.
On Sept. 16, he allegedly broke into the woman’s home and texted her while she was at work. Thirdkill also allegedly texted the woman on Sept. 21 apologizing for threatening her. In the text, he said he was done sending threats, and he only did it because he was mad, according to the report.
However on Sept. 24, Thirdkill allegedly texted the woman and her daughter at least 12 times, saying he was waiting for the woman to arrive at work, adding that the daughter was going to be a foster child, the report said.
