Two men charged for allegedly robbing pizza delivery driver in Arnold area

A Jefferson County jury recently found a second man guilty of robbing a pizza delivery driver two years ago in the Arnold area, Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski announced on Tuesday, March 24.

Gregory D. Allen, 29, of St. Louis on Tuesday was found guilty of first-degree robbery, a class A felony punishable by 10 to 30 years or life in prison. Charlie E. Brown, 20, who lives south of Arnold, was found guilty of the same charge on Jan. 6, court documents show.

Brown is scheduled to be sentenced on April 20, and Allen is scheduled to be sentenced on July 21. Both will be sentenced by Jefferson County Div. 5 Circuit Judge Victor Melenbrink, according to court records.

Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Courtney Goodwin prosecuted both cases.

“The pair was caught by Jefferson County Sheriff's Office deputies after leaving a trail of footprints in the snow that led straight to the stolen food and the suspects,” Stefanski wrote in a Facebook post announcing the jury’s decision against Allen.

“Judge Melenbrink presided over both trials, which saw excellent work from First Assistant Courtney Goodwin.

“We are especially proud of the victim, whose stellar testimony in both cases ensured that justice was served. Thank you to the jurors in both cases for their attentiveness to the evidence in these matters.”

On Dec. 1, 2024, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report that an Imo’s Pizza delivery driver was robbed while delivering food in the Rex Aire Mobile Home Park outside Arnold, the probable-cause statement in the case said.

When the driver attempted to deliver the food, two men approached him and tried to take the food. The driver told the men they needed to pay first but Brown made a threatening remark and Allen appeared to have a gun sticking out of his clothing, the report said.

The driver said he let go of the food, and the two men took the food and ran away, according to the report.

Deputies canvassed the area and found what appeared to be a set of two fresh shoeprints in the snow going to and from a backyard of a nearby home on Adayah Lane, the report said.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the home and arrested the two men who fit the driver’s description of the suspects. The officers also found the food that had been stolen stashed on drop ceiling panels above a bed in the home, according to the report.
