A 30-year-old Imperial man was arrested after Arnold Police were called to the Drury Inn and Suites because he reportedly was intoxicated and was harassing people at the hotel. The man also was wanted by Arnold Police on a warrant for careless and imprudent driving, authorities reported.
Arnold Police arrived at the hotel, 3800 Hwy. 141, at about 7:30 p.m. April 23, and when officers encountered the man, he allegedly told them he was going to run and then ran across the parking lot and onto Hwy. 141. Arnold Police officers and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies chased the man through the Chick-fil-A parking lot, 1 Arnold Mall, and then across Jeffco Boulevard and through the Fox C-6 School District campus, 751 Jeffco Blvd., as well as backyards of homes near the campus, the report said.
After the man crossed Jeffco again and ran into a creek near Walgreens, 776 Jeffco Blvd., officers apprehended him. He was arrested, and officers allegedly found two bags in his pocket. The bags allegedly contained a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, according to the report.
The man was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and felony resisting arrest, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
