Dittmer man charged in alleged domestic assault

David Lee Queen

David Lee Queen, 55, of Dittmer has been charged after allegedly choking a woman when the two argued about food. Queen and the alleged victim live in the same home, according to court documents.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Queen on Thursday, March 27, with first-degree domestic assault, a class B felony punishable by five to 15 years in prison, court records show.

As of Thursday afternoon, Queen was being held on a $20,000-surety bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court documents said.

According to the probable-cause statement, deputies were called by the alleged victim. The woman said Queen grabbed her by the throat after she told him to leave her room.

The woman said she was unable to breathe while Queen was allegedly holding her by the throat, the report said.

Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Tiffany Baker is prosecuting the case.
