De Soto-area man allegedly breaks into, shoots at Festus home

Aiden Lebeau

Aiden William Lebeau, 20, who lives south of De Soto, has been charged with five felonies for allegedly forcing his way into a home in Festus, assaulting at least two people and shooting a gun into the house, according to court documents.

Lebeau has been charged with first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree burglary and two counts of armed criminal action. He was arrested on March 20, and as of Monday, he was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court and jail records show.

According to a probable-cause statement filed by Festus Police, just before midnight on March 15, Lebeau hit a woman on her head to force his way into a home in the 1100 block of Valley Drive. He also allegedly punched another person in the jaw after entering the home.

A third person in the home shot at Lebeau, which the officer wrote was in self defense and defense of others.

Lebeau retreated from the home after being shot at, but he also allegedly fired a gun toward the house while leaving. One of the bullets hit the home, which had at least three people inside it at the time, the report said.

Festus Police did not report anyone being struck by a bullet. The police reported the woman who was hit in the head was knocked unconscious.
