Cedar Hill woman allegedly found with drugs after arrest in Imperial

Candice Gurley

Candice Jean Gurley, 33, of Cedar Hill was recently charged with felony drug possession after she was found slumped at the wheel of a Jeep outside an Imperial business, court documents show.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on March 11 charged Gurley with three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of driving with a revoked license. She was arrested on March 20, and as of March 25, she was being held on a $25,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court and jail records.

According to a probable-cause statement filed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy on Oct. 3, 2025, found Gurley in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle. The deputy wrote that Gurley showed signs of being intoxicated.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said Gurley was in a running 2017 Jeep Wrangler that was parked outside of the WildFlowers Resale Boutique 1245 Main Street, in Imperial. He said the Sheriff’s Office was contacted after she was seen slumped at the wheel for several hours.

In the probable-cause statement, the deputy wrote that Gurley refused to perform field sobriety tests, and that her license had been revoked.

The deputy allegedly found a bag with a white crystal-like substance, a capsule with an unknown substance and 131 pills in a brown pill bottle. The substances were tested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, which determined the substances were methamphetamine, fentanyl and alprazolam, the report said.
