Corey Trelane Morgan, 41, of Festus was placed on five years’ probation for allegedly molesting young girls, court documents show.

Morgan was charged with two counts of of third-degree child molestation, and on Oct. 23, he entered an Alford plea, which means he did not admit guilt but agreed there was sufficient evidence to find him guilty of the offenses.

Jefferson County Div. 4 Circuit Judge Brenda Stacey sentenced him that same day to two four-year prison terms, but the sentences were suspended and he was placed on probation, according to court records.

The alleged abuse occurred in 2019 and 2020, when Morgan reportedly exposed himself and inappropriately touched the two girls, the probable-cause statement in the case said.

One of the girls was younger than 10, and the other girl was younger than 12, the report said.

Morgan initially was charged with statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy with a victim younger than 12, an unclassified felony punishable by five years to life in prison, and two counts of sexual misconduct involving a child younger than 15, each one a class E felony that carries a penalty up to four years in prison, court documents show.
