Charles Lee Beck, 68, of Arnold has been accused of entering a woman’s home and stealing items from the house. Arnold Police arrested him outside of the home, according to court documents.
The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on Sept. 30 charged Beck with first-degree burglary, a class B felony punishable by five to 15 years in prison. As of Oct. 1, he was being held on a $20,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records said.
Officers were called on June 29 to a home on St. Peterburg Court by the alleged victim. Beck entered the home through an unlocked door and took keys to a 2017 Jeep Wrangler along with the woman’s driver’s license and a bottle of prescription medication, according to the case’s probable-cause statement.
Beck was partially inside the Jeep when officers arrived. He told police that he was going through the Jeep because he believed items that belonged to him were inside it, the report said.
The woman told police Beck did not have permission to come inside the house or to enter the Jeep, according to the report.
