A Jefferson County judge has suspended a Fenton woman’s prison sentence and placed her on probation after she pleaded guilty to at least her fifth driving while intoxicated charge since 1999, court documents show.
Cynthia Kristen Boyer, 52, on July 16 pleaded guilty to aggravated DWI. Jefferson County Div. 6 Circuit Judge Shannon Dougherty suspended Boyer’s seven-year prison sentence and placed her on five years’ probation, court records said.
Boyer will have to install an ignition interlock system on any vehicle she drives, and she will serve a 60-day sentence at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro before being released on probation, according to court documents.
Court records show Boyer was found guilty of DWI in January 1999 in St. Louis County; October 2003 and September 2010 in Maryland Heights Municipal Court; and in February 2013 in St. Louis County.
Boyer was arrested on Jan. 29 in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton following an accident near the intersection of Saline Road and Memory Lane. She was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze south on Saline Road when she went off the right side of the road and crashed into a fire hydrant, according to a probable-cause statement filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Boyer was treated by Rock Township Ambulance District personnel after the crash. She told the state trooper that she was drinking before the accident and that she was a “vodka-holic,” the report said.
Boyer failed field sobriety tests, and she registered a .389 percent blood-alcohol content after taking a breath test, according to the report. In Missouri, .08 percent is the legal limit.
The trooper wrote that a half-empty bottle of vodka was found on the front passenger’s seat of the Cruze.
