Brandon Michael Pyrtle, 43, of De Soto was recently arrested on drug charges. He has been charged three separate times for possession of a controlled substance this year, according to court records.
Pyrtle was arrested on July 15, and as of July 17, he was being held on a $15,694 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court and jail records show.
The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charge Pyrtle with felony possession of controlled substance charges on May 5, Jan. 27 and Jan. 9. Along with the three separate felony charges, he has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and in May, he was charged with misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and failure to register a motor vehicle, court documents said.
According to a probable-cause statement filed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in December 2025, Pyrtle was arrested following a traffic stop after he refused to identify himself. Pyrtle allegedly tried to pull away from a deputy while being arrested, and a deputy found a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine in Pyrtle’s pocket.
Pyrtle was driving a 2007 Ford Explorer in the 400 block of First Street in Hillsboro when he was stopped. Deputies stopped him because the SUV was not registered, the report said.
Pyrtle was arrested by a different deputy on Sept. 12, 2025, after he was stopped for allegedly trespassing. The deputy arrested Pyrtle because he was wanted on outstanding warrants, the case’s probable-cause statement said.
A police dog indicated there may be illegal drugs in the vehicle that Pyrtle had been driving, and a deputy allegedly found a container that had an unknown substance inside it. The substance tested positive for meth, the report said.
A De Soto Police officer arrested Pyrtle on June 30, 2025. The officer saw Pyrtle walking near the intersection of Rock Road and Hwy. 21, and the officer had been told Pyrtle was wanted on outstanding warrants, the case’s probable-cause statement said.
After Pyrtle was transported to the Police Station, an officer allegedly found three empty syringes and a syringe filled with a red liquid that were stored in a flask that Pyrtle had with him when he was arrested. The liquid tested positive for meth, the report said.
