Tyler Michael Cavenar, 19, who lives in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton is facing two felony charges after he allegedly shot at another man who was driving away from an Arnold restaurant. Cavenar and the other man allegedly fought in the parking lot before the shooting, Arnold Police reported.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on June 11 charged Cavenar with unlawful use of a weapon, a class B felony punishable by five to 15 years in prison, and armed criminal action, an unclassified felony that carries of a penalty of three to 15 years in prison, court records show.

Cavenar was being held as of this morning, June 21, at Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro without bond.

Cavenar and a 17-year-old Fenton man had agreed on June 10 to meet at the Wingstop restaurant, 3882 Hwy. 141, in Arnold to fight each other in the parking lot. Arnold Police were called to the parking at about 9:30 p.m. after a gunshot was reported, the case’s probable-cause statement said.

After the two had fought, Cavenar got a 9-milimeter Smith & Wesson gun from a 2004 Jeep Liberty, and he allegedly fired one shot at a 2013 Ford Mustang the other man was driving in an attempt to leave the parking lot. The bullet struck the driver’s side door of the car, the report said.

The driver was not injured, according to the report.

Cavenar had left the area when the police arrived. However, investigators arrested him at about 2:50 p.m. June 11 at a home on Stone Hill Manor between Arnold and Fenton, the report said.

Cavenar allegedly told investigators he had shot at the other man. Officers also recovered the gun when they arrested him, according to the report.
