The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two men were reportedly shot and killed Thursday evening, Aug. 6, in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the men at 12:50 p.m. today, Aug. 7, as 60-year-old Kenneth Queen and 45-year-old Timothy Brda Jr., both of the Fenton area.
According to a written statement from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies and EMS were dispatched for a report of an assault at about 9 p.m. to the 1100 block of Morris Drive in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton. A person called 911, saying a man suffering from “significant trauma and bleeding” arrived at his residence seeking help, the Sheriff’s Office said.
“During the investigation, deputies followed a blood trail to a nearby residence (on Saline Lane), where the trail continued inside,” the Sheriff’s Office reported. “Deputies entered the residence and discovered a second male suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment but later died.”
Grant Bissell, spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, said he believes both victims were shot. He said the investigation remains active as of this afternoon and no information about the suspect is being released.
“Suspect information is still under investigation but we do not believe there is a threat to the public,” he said.
