The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a tan 2013 Kia Optima from outside a home in the 2600 block of Ridge Drive in High Ridge. The car was unlocked, but the keys were not inside it, authorities reported.
Deputies were called to the home on July 13. The victim said the car was stolen sometime after midnight and before 5:30 a.m. that day, the report said.
Another vehicle parked near the stolen car was rummaged through, but no items were stolen. That vehicle also was not locked, according to the report.
As of July 17, the Optima had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
