Arnold Police are investigating an alleged burglary at the Holy Child School at St. David Catholic Parish, 2334 Tenbrook Road.
Between 6 p.m. Feb. 25 and 5 a.m. Feb. 26, someone got inside the building and stole children’s books and a baby food processer that was gift-wrapped. Altogether, the items were valued at $160, Arnold Police reported.
There were no signs of forced entry, the report said.
St. David Deacon Jerry Politte said the culprit also stole keys from the principal’s office and his office at the school, which serves pre-kindergarten students.
Politte said the food processer and books were gifts for a baby shower to be held for one of the school’s teachers.
He said the burglary was upsetting and he hopes the thief will return the items.
“Jesus paid a bigger price for that person’s soul, and your soul is sure worth a lot more than a food processer,” Politte said. “So, maybe they’ll own up to it.”
Several parishioners have access to the building, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman said.
As of Monday, there were no suspects or arrests, Ruckman said.
He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
