A former Windsor C-1 School District paraprofessional allegedly attacked and threatened to kill a woman in her Olivette home after a relationship between the two ended. Windsor Superintendent Jason King said a staff member identified as Alexander Julian, 21, of Barnhart was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Windsor Middle School and will no longer be employed by the district.
“This matter did not involve any school students or personnel,” King said. “This morning (Nov. 5), the Windsor C-1 School District was notified by law enforcement that a Windsor C-1 staff member was identified as a person of interest in a matter unrelated to the school district. Upon notification, the individual was taken into custody shortly thereafter at Windsor Middle School. At no time were any students or staff in the vicinity of, involved in, or placed at risk during this process.”
On Thursday, Nov. 6, Julian was charged in St. Louis County with two counts of third-degree domestic assault, class E felonies that are each punishable by up to four years in prison; unlawful use of a weapon, also a class E felony; and armed criminal action, an unclassified felony that carries a penalty of three to 15 years in prison, according to court documents.
As of today, Nov. 7, Julian was being held on a $100,000 bond at the St. Louis County Jail, court records show.
Matthew Brown, who is listed as Julian’s attorney, was not immediately available for comment on the case today.
According to a probable-cause statement filed by Olivette Police, Julian on Nov. 2 went to the woman’s home with her belongings. The two had been in a relationship for approximately four months before it recently ended.
Julian asked the woman to allow him to enter the house, and she said no. However, Julian came in anyway, shut the door and refused to leave, the report said.
He followed the woman into a bedroom and allegedly would not allow her to leave that room. A video showed the woman telling Julian to leave for about 10 minutes before he attacked her, according to the report.
Julian allegedly slammed the woman’s face into dresser and on the floor. He then pressed a gun against her face, threatening to kill her and then himself, the report said.
He racked the gun, causing a bullet to eject, and police reported finding a bullet in the room.
A camera in the home’s living room showed Julian leaving the bedroom, but after the woman yelled that he was “crazy,” he allegedly dragged her back into the bedroom and the woman could be heard screaming, “help me,” according to the report.
