Nicholas John “Nick” Pagano, 73, of Festus died July 13, 2026, in St. Louis. Mr. Pagano spent most of his life in Festus and was a 1971 Crystal City High School graduate. In his younger years, he worked as a DJ at KJCF, hosting a hard rock radio show known as "The Night System." His passion for music led him to attend countless concerts and even spend time as a roadie for several bands, including Tim McGraw. He earned an associate's degree in heating and cooling in 1992. He worked for Nordine before retiring from Wilson Manufacturing after many years of service. An avid sports fan, he cheered on the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues and especially loved supporting the Festus Tigers football team when he had the opportunity. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., specifically trips to the Gulf Coast, fishing and spending time with his many friends. Most of all, he loved his faith and was a devoted member of Oak Bridge Community Church, where he attended worship services and Bible studies. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor and faithful spirit. Born Oct. 10, 1952, in The Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Joseph Pagano and Susan "Susie" (Scotti) Pagano.
He is survived by an aunt: Louise Scotti Sardo; several cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Anthony Pagano; a sister-in-law: Jackie Pagano; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
