HILLSBORO BOARD OF ALDERMEN: Twiggs faces first challenge for Ward 4 seat

Only voters in Ward 4 will have a choice in April 2 for seats on the Hillsboro Board of Alderpersons.

In Ward 4, incumbent Joyce A. Twiggs faces a challenge from Wayne D. Kuechler. Twiggs, who is running for her sixth two-year term, has run unopposed in her five previous elections.

Neither candidate returned a Leader candidate questionnaire.

In Ward 1, longtime board member Brenda L. King is unopposed for another two-year term, as is Brad Willson, who was appointed to replace Joe Phillips, who was appointed mayor and has since resigned that post. Willson is seeking to serve the final year of Phillips’ term.

In Ward 2, Tim Polkinghorne faces no opposition for another two-year term, and the same can be said of Nancy K. Maxwell, another longtime board member.

Board members are paid $75 per month.
