Two people from Fenton were hurt in a two-vehicle traffic accident Saturday afternoon (July 11) on Hwy. TT at R-7 School Road south of Festus.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Eugene Glandt, 81, of Fenton was driving a 2012 Buick Lacrosse west on R-7 School Road at 12:50 p.m. when he attempted to turn left onto Hwy. TT and drove into the path of a northbound 2004 Chrysler Pacifica driving by Rachel Lewis, 37 of Festus. The front of the Chrysler struck the left side of the Buick, the report said.
The report made no mention of injuries to Lewis, but Glandt and a passenger in the Buick, Kay Kempf, 80, of Fenton, both were taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
All involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the report said. Both vehicles had extensive damage.
