A teenager from House Springs died in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday, Oct. 2, on Miller Road near Eagles View Drive in House Springs.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Joseph Hale Jr., 18, of House Springs was driving a 1996 Ford F150 pickup west on Miller Road at 4:50 a.m. when he drove off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole. The truck then caught fire.
Personnel from the Big River Ambulance District pronounced Hale dead at the scene at 5:11 a.m.
The report did not note whether Hale was wearing a seat belt. The truck was totaled in the accident, according to the report.
