A Barnhart man was injured Wednesday morning, April 10, in a three-vehicle crash on the southbound I-55 exit ramp to northbound I-270 in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:30 a.m., Peytan G. McKinney, 18, of Villa Ridge was driving a southbound 2014 Ford F150 and struck the rear of a southbound 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by David S. Gastreich, 53, of Barnhart, who was stopped in traffic. The Nissan was pushed off the road, and the F150 continued forward and struck a southbound 2015 Jeep Patriot driven by Adam W. Voorhees, 24, of Fenton, who also was stopped in traffic, said Cpl. Logan Bolton of the highway patrol.
No injuries were reported for McKinney or Voorhees. However, Gastreich was moderately injured and taken by Mehlville EMS to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
All three drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Ford and Nissan were extensively damaged, and the Jeep sustained minor damage.
