Doug and Lynne Wendel of Festus say their mini goldendoodles, Remi and Cuffs, bring them great joy.

Lynne, in particular, said the 1 1/2-year-old sisters have been a comfort to her after a recent hospital stay.

“I just got out of the hospital and they’ve stayed by my side,” she said. “They sleep in between us at night. They think the bed is theirs.”

Lynne said the puppies are playful.

“They’re so feisty,” she said. “They love to play with and chase each other. They’re like kids. They certainly behave like kids. One will bite the other’s leg and run away.”

Remi and Cuffs share an aversion to water.

“They’ll chase each other all around the yard,” Lynne said. “But, they will not go into the pool.”
