POPCORN CRUNCH

8 cups popcorn, popped

1 1/3 cups honey roasted peanuts

1/4 cup butter

1/3 cup sugar

½ cup white syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix popcorn and nuts on lightly buttered cookie sheet.

Combine sugar, butter and syrup in a heavy saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil, stirring frequently for 10-12 minutes or until a light caramel color. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.

Pour over popcorn mixture, mixing until well coated. Break apart; store in a tightly covered container until ready to eat.

Note: If you want a sweet and salty taste, you can purchase a bag of white cheddar popcorn to use instead of plain popcorn or the popcorn you pop yourself.

CHEESY CRESCENT GHOSTS

1 can of refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

1 cup (4 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese or Colby-Monterey Jack cheese blend

Garlic salt

Assorted sliced black and green olives with pimentos

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray or cover large cookie sheet with aluminum foil and lightly spray with cooking spray.

Unroll dough and separate into 8 triangles on cutting board. Cut each triangle in half, from center of longest side to opposite point, making 16 triangles. Shape each as needed to look like ghost shapes. Arrange triangles on cookie sheets, folding narrow point under about 1/2 inch to form head of ghost.

Bake about 7 minutes or until slightly puffed and just beginning to brown. Sprinkle each ghost with a little garlic salt and about 1 tablespoon of cheese. Top with sliced olives to form mouths and eyes. Pieces of pimentos also can be used for eyes. Bake 2 to 3 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
