After losing to Festus in its first game this season, the Park Hills Central boys basketball team has ripped off nine straight wins and hosts Hillsboro tonight (Dec. 30) in the championship of the 67th annual Bob Sechrest Jr. Christmas Tournament.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Hawks entered the tournament as the No. 6 seed but beat Arcadia Valley 84-60, Festus 61-58 in the first two rounds and Potosi 64-31 in the semifinals on Thursday night. It’s the second meeting of the season between Hillsboro and the top-seeded Rebels, who won the first meeting handily 76-54.

Festus (3), Herculaneum (8), Jefferson (13), Crystal City (14) and De Soto (15) were also in the tournament, but were eliminated from trophy contention. The Tigers lost to South Iron (2) 51-50 in the fifth-place semifinals on Thursday.
