De Soto has won eight of its last 10 softball games and plays at Hillsboro today at 4:30 in the Class 3 District 2 championship.
The Dragons, the No. 5 seed in the district, beat North County (No. 4) 10-8 in eight innings on Wednesday in the first round, then knocked off top-seeded Festus 12-3 in the semifinals that night. Hillsboro (No. 2) heat Windsor (No. 3) 5-4 in eight innings in the other semifinal contest.
The Hawks beat the Dragons 9-2 in their only meeting this season on Sept. 18.
In Class 4 District 1 at Jackson, No. 1 seeded Seckman plays Poplar Bluff today (Thursday) at 5:30 p.m. The Mules beat Cape Girardeau Central 13-3 on Wednesday. Northwest is the second seed in District 1 and will try to make it an all-Jefferson County final with a win over Jackson (No. 3) at 4 p.m. The championship is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday.
