A Six Flags St. Louis employee was injured after apparently jumping from the platform at the River King Mine Train ride. The 16-year-old St. Louis girl allegedly expressed suicidal thoughts before jumping, Eureka Police reported.

Officers were called at about 6:15 p.m. Oct. 4 to the park, 4900 Six Flags Road, in Eureka after the girl fell approximately 35 feet. She was seriously injured and transported by the Eureka Fire Protection District to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, the report said.

The girl’s mother told officers that her daughter had sent an image of her feet dangling off the ride’s platform and a message that said she was “going to let go, goodbye.” When the mother could not contact her daughter, she called 911, according to the report.

Six Flags did not respond to emails from the Leader seeking comment.
