Tony Cook won his 500th game as head coach of the Jefferson College softball team on Thursday when the Vikings beat Mineral Area College 7-3 in Farmington.
Cook has been the team’s head coach since 2007 and led them to consecutive trips to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I World Series in 2014-2015.
Between 2013-2015, Cook led the Vikings to a combined record of 161-28 (.852). Under Cook, the Vikings have won 10 Midwest Community College Athletic Conference titles and have played in the Region 16 championship nine times. The Vikings are 21-8 this season.
